Pewnie zauważyliście, że w miniony piątek na Netfliksie premierę miał serial "Wiedźmin". Wiele osób zdążyło już obejrzeć większość albo nawet całość i opinie są... Różne.
To było do przewidzenia. Nie każdy musi rozpływać się w zachwytach. Widzowie są generalnie zadowoleni, twierdzą, że serial jest dobry albo bardzo dobry, a jeśli mają krytyczne uwagi, to są one raczej drobne. Jak często bywa, krytycy oceniają produkcję surowiej i bardziej zwracają uwagę na pewne słabsze w ich odczuciu kwestie. W porządku, mają do tego prawo, o ile wiedzą, o czym mówią/piszą.
Tymczasem recenzenci z portalu Entertainment Weekly, Darren Franich i Kristen Baldwin ocenili serial na F (najgorsza możliwa ocena), nie wypowiadając się niemal wcale merytorycznie, a swoją recenzję składając z coraz bardziej wymyślnych obelg dla "Wiedźmina". Poza tym przyznają się, że nie obejrzeli serialu w całości, ani nawet w większości. Jedno z nich obejrzało zdaje się pierwsze dwa, a drugie pierwszy i piąty odcinek. To skrajnie niepoważne. Nie mówimy o serialu dwudziestoodcinkowym, ale składającym się z ośmiu epizodów. Na pewno można potraktować poważnie swoją pracę i poświęcić osiem godzin na produkcję Netflixa, by móc o niej pisać rzetelnie. Tym bardziej, że mówimy o serialu głośny, mocno promowanym i takim, w którym sporo osób pokładało wielkie nadzieje. Najwyraźniej jednak niektórzy ewidentnie celowo starają się wzbudzić kontrowersje, zamiast wykazać się profesjonalizmem. To się udaje. Komentarzy pod recenzją jest mnóstwo, ale nie pozostawiają one wątpliwości: widzowie także uważają takie pisanie tekstów za oburzające. Cóż jednak z tego, skoro liczą się kliknięcia?
Dodatkowym smaczkiem jest to, że przyznana ocena traktowana jest przez portal Metacritic (w założeniu zbierający opinie profesjonalnych recenzentów - jak widać niekoniecznie) jako 0 i uwzględniana w wyliczeniu średniej oceny krytyków. W efekcie ta jest niższa o jakieś 7% (4 p.p.). To skrajnie krzywdzące. Poza tym bądźmy poważni: serial mógłby się nie podobać krytykom, ale żeby dostać zero, musiałby naprawdę być zły. To zupełna bzdura.

Nie psujmy sobie jednak humoru tym, że ktoś ma najwyraźniej w dupie jakiekolwiek standardy swojej pracy. Może zamiast tego ja podzielę się swoją opinią?
Chyba nie powinienem, bo póki co widziałem tylko jeden odcinek (zamierzam dzisiaj zmienić jeszcze ten stan rzeczy). Powiem jednak tyle, że z tego co słyszałem i czytałem w internecie, pierwszy odcinek odstaje poziomem od kolejnych, jest trochę słabszy. Jeśli prawda, to bardzo dobrze. Skoro bowiem już ten pierwszy całkiem mi się podobał, to znaczy, że będzie tylko lepiej, a to wspaniała wiadomość.
To by było na tyle. Gdy przeczytacie gdzieś negatywną opinię na temat czegoś, to koniecznie skonfrontujcie ją z innymi. Sprawdźcie też, czy autor miał podstawę, by wyrazić opinię. Komentowanie na podstawie skromnego wycinka jest przecież żenujące.

You probably noticed that the series "The Witcher" premiered on Netflix last Friday. Many people have already seen the majority or even the whole and opinions are ... Various.
That was easy to predict. Not everyone has to be overjoyed. Audience is generally satisfied, people say that the show is good or very good, and if they have critical comments, those are usually petty things. As often happens, critics assess production more harshly and pay more attention to some issues they regard worse. All right, they have the right to do so, as long as they know what they are talking / writing about.
Meanwhile, reviewers from Entertainment Weekly portal, Darren Franich and Kristen Baldwin rated the series as F (the worst possible rating), not speaking almost at all substantively, and their review consists of increasingly sophisticated insults for "The Witcher". In addition, they admit that they did not watch the series in its entirety or even most. One of them seems to have watched the first two, and the second one the first and fifth episode. This is extremely silly. We are not talking about a twenty-episode series, but consisting of eight episodes. You can definitely take your work seriously and spend eight hours on Netflix production to be able to write honestly about it. The more so because we are talking about a loud, highly promoted series and one in which a lot of people put high hopes. Apparently, however, some are clearly deliberately trying to arouse controversy instead of showing professionalism. It succeeds. There are plenty of comments under the review, but they leave no doubt: viewers also consider such writing to be outrageous. But what of it, if clicks matter?
An additional matter is that the rating awarded is treated by the Metacritic portal (supposed to collect the opinions of professional reviewers - they are not necessarily so professional as you can see) as 0 and included in the calculation of the average critics score. As a result, it is lower by about 7% (4 pp). It's extremely unfair. Besides, let's be serious: the series might not be liked by critics, but to get zero, it would have to be really bad. This is complete nonsense.
However, let's not spoil our mood with the fact that someone apparently gives no shit about any standards of their work. Maybe I will share my opinion instead.
I probably shouldn't, because I have only seen one episode so far (I'm going to change this today). I will say, however, that from what I have heard and read on the internet, the first episode stands out from the next ones, is a bit weaker. If true, that's very good. Since I really liked the first one, it means that it will only be better, and this is great news.
That's it. When you read a negative opinion about something somewhere, be sure to confront it with others. Also check whether the author had the basis to express his opinion. Commenting based on a modest slice is embarrassing.
