Lepsza? Wielkanoc lepsza? Niż co? Niż Boże Narodzenie. Innej konkurencji nie ma, bo w powszechnej świadomości to dwa największe święta w ciągu roku. Zdaję sobie sprawę, że większość z Was pewnie woli to grudniowe, ale...

• W Wielkanoc jest lepsze jedzenie. Tu pewnie większość z Was się nie zgodzi, ale ja naprawdę nie jestem fanem potraw wigilijnych, a w polskiej tradycji to one są kluczowe przy okazji Bożego Narodzenia. Przy Wielkanocy natomiast chyba nie ma bardzo powszechnych zwyczajów w tym zakresie, co daje większą swobodę. W ten sposób u mnie w domu na przykład pojawia się biała kiełbasa na winie, z oliwkami i rozmarynem. To lepsze niż groch z kapustą i inne dziwactwa. Kluczowe są jednak słodkości. Przy okazji Bożego Narodzenia nie jest z tym źle (sernik i makowiec), ale tu Wielkanoc bezapelacyjnie wygrywa. Sernik jak najbardziej jest, makowiec czasem też, do tego inne ciasta, babki drożdżowe, jakieś cukrowe lub czekoladowe figurki, ale przede wszystkim najważniejsze: mazurki! Te małe skurczybyki są boskie, a najlepsze oczywiście te robione przez moją mamę. To kulinarne cuda. Z mazurkami jest jednak tak, że u każdego mogą wyglądać zupełnie inaczej. To jednak tym lepiej, bo te inne też są na ogół wspaniałe. Wielkanoc 1 - Boże Narodzenie 0.

Ależ śliczności!

• Merytorycznie Wielkanoc jest ważniejsza. Części z Was może to nie obchodzić, ale to jednak chrześcijaństwo jest źródłem tego, że mamy teraz wolne, możemy odpocząć, spotkać się z bliskimi i poopychać pysznościami. W przypadku Bożego Narodzenia nazwa mówi wszystko. Wielkanoc natomiast to celebracja tego, że Jezus oddał życie za nasze grzechy, dlatego każdy w Kościele bez wątpienia stwierdzi, że to najważniejsza uroczystość w roku liturgicznym.  Nie trzeba nic więcej dodawać. Wielkanoc 2 - Boże Narodzenie 0.
  
  
• Poziom komercjalizacji. Boże Narodzenie stało się tak bardzo odpustowym świętem, wykorzystywanym do sprzedania absolutnie wszystkiego, że to zatrważające. Marki uczą się od najlepszego, czyli od Coca-Coli, która od lat robi to z sukcesami. Spotkania z Mikołajami, Aniołkami, wystawy, promocje i tak dalej pojawiają się obecnie przy okazji tych świąt w jakiejś obłędnej ilości. W tym wszystkim rozmywa się meritum: dla wierzących aspekt religijny, a dla wszystkich czas spędzony z rodziną lub przyjaciółmi. Z Wielkanocą też się to poniekąd dzieje, pojawiają się zajączki, kaczuszki itd., ale skala jest dużo mniejsza. Oczywiście wszystko to wynika w dużej mierze z tradycji dawania prezentów, ale o tym w następnym punkcie. Wielkanoc 3 - Boże Narodzenie 0.
• Prezenty. W Boże Narodzenie są one oczywiście gdzieś na końcu listy ważnych rzeczy. To nie o nie chodzi. Nie zmienia to jednak faktu, że większość z nas lubi dostawać różne rzeczy - nieważne czy to książka, płyta, skarpetki, telefon czy Porsche. Miło jest coś otrzymać. Co prawda zwyczaj podarunków jest chyba źródłem komercjalizacji z poprzedniego punktu, ale jedno wcale nie musi przekładać się na drugie. Wystarczy do tematu upominków podchodzić z głową. Przy okazji Wielkanocy na ogół nie ma tematu prezentów (chyba, że u Was wygląda to inaczej?). Można się zastanawiać, czy to dobrze, czy to źle, ale uznajmy, że Boże Narodzenie wygrywa w tym aspekcie, przyznając mu honorowy punkt. Wielkanoc 3 - Boże Narodzenie 1.

I to koniec. Można by oczywiście mnożyć kryteria, ale myślę, że dla większości z nich dało by się wykazać wyższość wiosennego święta. W związku z tym Wielkanoc jest lepsza. Poza tym jest też... Formalnie dopiero od jutra. Zgodnie z moimi własnymi zasadami nie powinienem więc jeszcze składać Wam życzeń, ale zrobię to, żeby jutro nie zapomnieć. Oto one:

Na jutrzejsze święto życzę Wam przede wszystkim spokojnego czasu. Odpocznijcie trochę w gronie bliskich od codziennego pędu. Uspokójcie umysły. Znajdźcie może chwilę na refleksję. Nie jakąś konkretną, a taką, jaka Wam się przyda. Pamiętajcie, że nie wszystko musi być idealnie. Wszystkiego najlepszego! Wesołych Świąt!

Better? Easter is better? Than what? Than Christmas. There are no other competitiors, because in the general consciousness they are the two biggest holidays in a year. I realize that most of you probably prefer this in December, but ...

• There is better food at Easter. Probably most of you will not agree, but I really am not a fan of Christmas Eve dishes, and in Polish tradition they are key on the occasion of Christmas. At Easter, however, there are probably no common customs in this area, which gives more freedom. And so at my home, for example, there is a white sausage on the wine, with olives and rosemary. It's better than peas with cabbage and other quirks. The key, however, are the sweets. It is not bad at Christmas (cheesecake and poppyseed cake), but here Easter definitely wins. Cheesecake is present, the other one sometimes also appears, but there are also other cakes, like yeast cakes, some figures made of sugar or chocolate, but most importantly: shortcrust tarts! These little bastards are divine, and the best, of course, those made by my mother. They are culinary wonders. However, each shortcrust tart can look completely different, depending on who made it. Anyway, it's all the better because these others are also great. Easter 1 - Christmas 0.
• Substantially, Easter is more important. Some of you may not care, but Christianity is the source of the fact that we have a day off now, we can relax, meet with relatives and indulge in delicacies. In the case of Christmas, the polish name says it all (it's God's Birth). Easter, on the other hand, is the celebration of the fact that Jesus gave his life for our sins, so everyone in the church will with no doubt say that this is the most important celebration in the liturgical year. You do not need to add anything. Easter 2 - Christmas 0.
• The level of commercialization. Christmas has become such a shoddy holiday and is used to sell absolutely everything. That is frightening. Brands learn from the best, that is from Coca-Cola, which has been doing it successfully for years. Plenty of exhibitions, promotions, meetings with Santa Clauses, Angels, and so forth appear on this occasion in an insane amount. In all this, the point is lost: for believers the religious aspect, and for everyone the time spent with family or friends. With Easter it also happens a bit, there are bunnies, ducklings, etc., but the scale is much smaller. Of course, all this results to a large extent from the tradition of giving presents, but about it at the next point. Easter 3 - Christmas 0.
• Gifts. At Christmas, they are obviously somewhere at the end of the list of important things. It is not about them. However, this does not change the fact that most of us like to receive things - whether it's a book, a CD, the socks, a phone or a Porsche. It's nice to get something. Although the custom of gifts is probably a source of commercialization from the previous point, it does not have to be like this. It is enough to wisely approach the matter of gifts. When it comes to Easter, this matter usually does not appear (unless it is different for you?). You might wonder if it's good or bad, but let's admit that Christmas wins in this aspect. That results in awarding it with an honorary point. Easter 3 - Christmas 1.

And this is the end. One could, of course, find more criteria, but I think that for most of them it would be possible to demonstrate the superiority of the spring holiday. Therefore, Easter is better. Besides, it is also ... Formally starting only from tomorrow. According to my own rules, I should not give you wishes yet, but I will do so not to forget tomorrow.
